Fri Jun XI

Bust-up with Lockwood over Soccer meeting – he reckons I should spend Fri interval in Lib. I think I should go to meetings.

Funnily enough, although I remember this argument taking place, I don’t really remember Lockwood at all. Something tells me that his first name was Matthew and that he was in the year above me, small, with freckles and sandy hair. But that might have been someone else.

The argument was one he could never win, because there was no way that I was going to miss a meeting with a teacher to spend fifteen minutes in the library putting books away.

Friday meetings were held in Mr Gray’s room, in front of a blackboard on which he would write the team for the next day’s game. By this stage it pretty much picked itself. Right back and the right sided midfield player were the only ones really up for grabs, resigning me to the substitute role again. But I would still rather be there than in the library with Lockwood.
