Mon Jun VII

Morning spent packing up ready to go. Lay around listening to Hauraki on Steve’s radio

After the mammoth entry of yesterday (at least by comparison) a short sharp one. I was clearly back to my normal form.

For some reason just about everywhere in the Commonwealth other than in the UK they have a public holiday on the first Monday in June to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. I have never understood why we don’t, but at least it meant that on this day I wasn’t at school.

On the other hand, I’m not sure why I was lying about listening to the radio when everyone was packing up. Or just how much packing up we had to do anyway. I think it was more in the nature of cleaning up the place we had been staying in for two nights. I like to think that I left most of that to the girls.
