Monday Jan XI

Massacred Lisa + Kevin At Monopoly. Took a through train from Lancing to London, and tube to Queensbury. Skated down Reynolds Drive. Ate small tea. Watched 3 of a Kind.

After Sunday’s post I got asked where Lancing is. It is a small town on the south coast of England, not far from Brighton. My Nana lived there for almost all of the time that I knew her.

I’ve mentioned before that my other grandparents lived in Queensbury in London. The part that they lived on featured roads named after famous painters, hence Reynolds Drive. Prior to being built on the land had been an airport, used by Amy Johnson among others. In fact the largest road was named Mollison Way, after her husband Jim Mollison. Years later, I used to regularly have Sunday lunch in the pub in Surbiton where Mollison drank away his final years.

Three of a Kind was a television sketch show featuring Lenny Henry, Tracey Ullman and a third comedian named David Copperfield
