Dear Readers, I have bad news.
Unfortunately, I have been accused of plagiarising someone else’s idea in bringing this blog to you, and have received a rather nasty letter from their solicitors which, to cut a long story short, suggests that I might like to stop writing The Memory Blog, on pain of having to give them lots of money.
Some of you might think that this is just deserts, what with me having trained as a lawyer and written the odd nasty, please-stop-that-or-else, letter in my time. Which is fair enough, but I still don’t see why what I do here is any different to a rather random autobiography.
And some of you might be wondering why, as a lawyer, I’m not putting up more of a fight. The fact is that I simply don’t have the money to either pay my own lawyer to deal with the problem, or to pay the other lawyers if I lose.
I’m going to take some advice, though, and would welcome any suggestions you might have for dealing with the problem. I should warn you, though, that the next post might be my last. And all this after I finally sorted out the domain name and Facebook page, too – although that might be what caused the problem.
