A little while ago, it dawned on me that if something were to happen to me there would be no-one about who could give an entirely accurate account of my life to my son. So I started this site. It is, if you like, the autobiography of someone who is never likely to be asked to write an autobiography.
The order in which posts appear is entirely random, determined by a combination of factors known as ‘what do I want to write about today?’, ‘what important thing happened today?’ and ‘what’s left in the memory bank at the moment?’. The reasons for this are (a) it means that anyone can just drop into the site and have a fair idea of what is going on (b) if it was a purely ‘linear’ site, beginning with my birth and going on from there, you’d have to start at the beginning and (c) it just seemed more interesting to do it that way.
It is, literally, all of my memories, written as I remember them
Comments are always welcome. Sometimes I even remember to respond. And if you like what you read, please nip over to our Facebook page and like us there, too.
When were you at the Dem School? Pretty sure my sister’s teacher was Mrs Pettegrew.
72-74(ish). Are you Jane’s brother?
Indeed – reading a bit more I assume you were in her class – a couple of names I recognised – Fiona and Anuja.
Indeed I was. She and I were on the same table – the two of us, Fiona, Gail Souter, Ian Cameron, Richard Bowman and a two other girls whose names escape me
